When it comes to selecting the right bearing, there are several different possibilities to choose from. It’s good to have options, but sometimes it’s hard to keep track of which part does exactly what.
Bearing inserts are one of many different products we offer at Ritbearing, but what exactly do they do? Glad you asked!
WHAT ARE BEARING INSERTS?
Bearing inserts are adapted radial bearings. They are most commonly used in mounted unit applications in areas like agriculture, printing, and food processing. It’s common for bearing inserts to be sold with a housing, although they can also be a stand-alone product.
Bearing inserts features include:
• Easy re-greasing with Zerk fitting.
• Greater load bearing than standard single row or double row radial ball bearings.
• Housing that can be made from cast iron, thermoplastic, pressed steel, or stainless steel. Options also include nickel or zinc plated housings.
• An option for an anti-rotation pin, which further reduces rotation of the outside diameter of the bearing.
