What else could you do to get the most out of your bearings?

Modifications may help for your application, or if you’ve experienced a bearing failure, you could determine the cause in order to understand if it can be prevented in the future—saving you unexpected downtime.

We provide services, such as failure analysis, in addition to offering high-quality, cost effective ball and roller bearings. Our services also include bearing modification, relubrication and privatized branding. We share some of the details below.

Ritbearing Additional Services

Bearing Modification

Additions

1. Addition of snap ring and groove to the OD of bearings.

2. Addition of W33 feature to bearings. This is a groove on the OD of the bearing with 3 lubrication holes.

 3. Addition of oil holes on the inner ring. Typically used in steel mill applications.

4. Addition of a variety of OD groove designs available. Typically used for wire guiding equipment.

Retrofit & Reclaim

1. Retrofit of cage (retainer) and balls. We can take the steel balls out, and replace with ceramic balls.
We can also replace a steel cage with a plastic cage.

2. We can reclaim bearings. Polish raceways, replace rolling elements if necessary.

Full Complement

1. Can also remove a cage, and install the maximum number of balls into a bearing. This is called “Full Complement”.

Preload & Clearance Changes

1. Can offer preload changes on precision angular contact bearings. We can make a “light” preload bearing into a “medium” or “heavy” preload.

2. Clearance change can be made on bearings. We can take a bearing with a C3 clearance and open it up to a C4 clearance or greater.

Surface Coatings

1. Can offer bearings with a ceramic coating to reduce wear or reduce rusting. Reference “FENCR” process on a case study on Ritbearing website.

2. Can offer TDC, “Thin Dense Chrome Plating” to bearings.

Relubrication

1. Removal of old grease in an existing bearing. Can remove grease from a bearing that has metal enclosures on it. (ZZ)

2. Can replace with special greases such as fluorinated grease for high temp applictions or grease that is FDA approved.

 3. Fill rates can be changed according to specific application needs.

4. Can have bearings filled with a solid oil lubricant. Typically used in areas where it is hard to lubricate often, such as an overhead crane application.

Failure Analysis

1. Detailed inspection report including observations of failed bearing.

2. Conclusions based upon information provided.

 3. Reference pictures to support findings.

Privatized Branding

1. Custom packaging options available, included bar coding.

2. Custom part numbers. We can put the OEM part number on the bearings. This will help to create an aftermarket opportunity for the OEM.
