ARE THE RITBEARING LINES ROHS COMPLIANT?

This is a question frequently asked by engineers, and yes, all Ritbearing lines are RoHS compliant.

WHAT IS ROHS COMPLIANCE?

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, RoHS for short, restricts (with exceptions) the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.

SIX RESTRICTED SUBSTANCES:

  1. Lead (Pb)

  2. Mercury (Hg)

  3. Cadmium (Cd)

  4. Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+)

  5. Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)

  6. Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)

ROHS COMPLIANCE & BEARINGS

WHAT IS THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF THE BEARING STEEL FOR THE BEARINGS THAT RITBEARING SUPPLIES?

The vast majority of the bearings that Ritbearing supplies are made from 100Cr6 steel. This follows the standards according to AISI 52100, JIS SUJ 2, and DIN 1.3505.

WHICH RITBEARING PRODUCT LINES ARE ROHS COMPLIANT?

All Ritbearing product lines are RoHS compliant. Ritbearing works with our suppliers throughout Europe and Asia to make sure they are compliant and that they meet the customer’s demands.

WILL MANUFACTURERS PACKAGING SHOW ROHS COMPLIANCE?

At this time, our suppliers do not state RoHS compliance on their master containers. If Ritbearing customers require this, we can work with the supplier to meet this demand.
